Niagara River’s gorge straddles the US and Canada border. Viewpoints for admiring this powerful river are on both sides of the gorge. All American overlooks are located on the Goat Island. Top level has several options for seeing Horseshoe Fall – the main fall of the river, closer to the Canadian shore. American and Bridal Veil Falls are better to admire from the bottom lever, where you can get through the Cave of Winds. In the park there is a statue of Nikola Tesla, who as a first, harnessed the power of Niagara River and used its unlimited energy. In the winter season most of the terraces and attractions is closed due to safety reasons, but in the summer time you can take a boat cruise right at the Horseshoe Fall or fly by helicopter over all 3 falls.
Niagara Falls city offers decent accommodation, it also has the Seneca Casino. Although the city on the Canadian side (with the same name), offers more attractions. If you have a valid passport, you can cross the border through the Rainbow Bridge.
