City of two states - Kansas and Missouri

In order to celebrate the end of lockdown, we got into a car and drove to Kansas City MO. This city is well known of fountains, good music and BBQ.
Our first steps led to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. We were surprised how small the museum was, with only 3 exhibition halls open that time. But we dined in its famous café Sebastienne, which is considered the heart of the building. And, in the contrary to what they say, it wasn’t that expensive at all. Outside modern sculptures are a must.
It was really hard to wander through Mill Creek Park on a hot June day, but when we saw the Memorial Fountain there, we decided to suffer a bit more for great photos.
Most of people know that Kansas City is a cradle of jazz and all the black jazz artists started here. Jazz museum in the historic 18th district of Kansas City reminds this history from scratch.
Another museum which was definitely worth seeing, is the Arabia Steamboat museum. Arabia was a side-wheel steamer that sank in the Missouri River on September 5, 1856. Today, artifacts recovered from this site, are shown in the Arabia Steamboat Museum. This museum neighbors with City market, so right after our visit we went to eat something local there and enjoy market area.
When in KS, it's a must to try a traditional BBQ, so we drove to the Kansas part of the city, to the most famous BBQ place – Joe’s BBQ bar. You may be surprised, but the bar is within the gas station and the line waits far on the street to get in.
Unlike poor and damaged suburbs, downtown Kansas City MO is a modern and clean looking area. When driving around, you can admire numerous fountains, library, Kauffman center and many more.
A nice city attraction is the ride on a top of the Memorial monument in the National World War I Museum, The views from the top are worth way more than $5.
