Hoover Dam on the border river Colorado has always been my dream and this dream came true a couple days ago. Half an hour from Las Vegas, towards Arizona, you get to the state border and Colorado river. Local visitor center offers different tours, depending on where you get and how much time (and money) you can spend. It’s worth to see the service tunnels on Nevada side, watch 10’ movie about the Dam’s history and admire this engineering miracle from the center’s terrace. Walking on the dam itself, you can both see the steep concrete surface and the Lake Mead. Yet, the best view on the entire complex is available from the Memorial bridge. Intake towers on both sides also show Nevada and Arizona time zones. When it’s hot, you can refresh at the local cafeteria and buy some Hoover Dam souvenirs.
