Monticello - Thomas Jefferson’s house.
A bit controversial person: he hated politics and yet he wrote Declaration, bought Louisiana territory, and held presidential office for 2 terms. He much more loved architecture, books, and gardening, which, eventually, put him into huge debts. Due to these debts, his descendants had to sell the house, land, and Jefferson’s slaves.
