After a short visit at Kyle’s co-worker’s house in Alexandria, we decided to see its Old Town, located just at the Potomac river. The Old Town means something different in America than in Europe; don’t expect old buildings and traditional architecture. Here it is just an area of the oldest houses and streets which still look quite modern. But the Potomac river surroundings and the Waterfront themselves make a kind of unique atmosphere anyway. After a short lunch in the harbour tavern and quick shopping, we took the main street – King St – heading for the metro station and our rented car. We turned the car back at the Ronald Raegan airport, cause we flew home from the Washington. And Minnesota welcomed us with rain and cold, isn’t it a kind of bad luck? Or maybe just MN itself !
