Chicago – second Warsaw. You can often hear Polish on the street there. Also the nearest Polish Consulate for MN. And I had the occasion to see it when voting in a governmental election.
One day in Chicago is definitely too short to see the city, and many people recommend the boat cruise as for the first time. So we did; we bought the Wendella tickets, found the right dock and took a line on our boat. The 90-minutes-cruise took us both on the Lake Michigan and into the city channel. Those, who got cold a little on the upper deck, could drink hot and alcohol beverages to get warm, but in my opinion, the views around, payed all the inconveniences back.
Before getting to our hotel in the suburbs, we managed to take a walk to the Navy Pier; place full of restaurants, shops and fast foods. Not to mention quite a big carnival.
The last, but almost the most spectacular thing we had, was the brunch on the 95th floor of John Hancock building, in ‘Signature Room’. Some say that the best view is available in ladies’ restroom and I can definitely confirm that.
