Looking for Civil War traces

We went to visit our dad who is in nursing house in Richmond, but everybody knows that Richmond holds a lot of historical sites. This visit was too short to see them all, but we saw the White House of Confederacy (civil war), civil war hospitals in Chimborazo complex. We even saw Richmond's Capitol Hill with the state capitol building designed by Thomas Jefferson. Our last attraction was the Canal Walk. We both had that feeling that even not seeing everything, we don't want to come back to this industrial city.
